Delegates from five continents around the world will participate actively at this year’s Summer Youth Assembly at the United Nations. Expect to hear their stories on how they landed at the UN and how they are making small but significant steps in the quest to apply sustainability across the different aspects of their lives.
Guided by the overarching principle of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, “Leaving no one behind,” the Youth Assembly is a conference that explores cross-cutting issues and solutions for sustainable development in the social, economic, and environmental dimensions, bringing together young global citizens from all over the globe.
The Social Ventures for Sustainable Development (SVSD) Seminar is an intensive Fairleigh Dickinson University certificate-based program, which aims to teach participants hands-on skills in creating and developing a social venture according to the principles of sustainability. Learn more about how GYVers are involved in it, too!
Two groups stood out for their ideas proposed to help Syrian refugees and African women.
“Both men and women have to work together to empower women in all sectors.”
A good story is one that helps us understand not only the world but also ourselves.
“Give your ideas, give your time and share with people.”
“Unify, empower and include all.”
After four full intensive training days on social ventures for sustainable development, delegates added the final touches to their projects’ proposals in the morning.
The pre-Youth Assembly seminar is not complete without learning about real experiences led by successful companies.
