Millennials: a Progressive and Individualistic Generation

A lot of hyperboles have surrounded - and still surround - Millennials, the generation of individuals born between 1980 and early 2000.

Throughout the past decade in fact, naysayers have harshly criticized us for being a self-absorbed,  avid and high maintenance age group, so much so that we were renamed the "me me me generation".

According to others though, the reality is diametrically opposite. Far from being criticized, Millennials ought to be lauded for their high level of education, great technological skills, extensive multi-tasking abilities and passionate energy.

Now that we are starting to flood corporate buildings, managers and leaders belonging to older age groups are trying to shirk generalizations and re-think what it really means to be a millennial - in terms of generational needs, characteristics and values.

Through the WorkTrends™ survey, The IBM High Performance Institute (KHPI), attempted to provide some answers to these questions. The results are summarized in the infographics below. If you are a millennial, do you recognize yourself in these traits?
